About the Role

Mirai Arabian International Company Limited, a video game support studio based in Riyadh, is seeking a Director of AI to join its leadership team. This role is integral to shaping local and global AI strategy, production leadership, and team development within the company, which is part of Savvy Games Group and focused on building industry-defining interactive entertainment experiences.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Director of AI will be responsible for leading the production roadmap and the integration of AI solutions across various business units and studio operations. This position requires a strategic and hands-on approach, involving close collaboration with Scopely’s global GenAI teams and internal stakeholders, while also leading a local department comprised of AI Engineers, Project Managers, and Product Managers. The role reports directly to the CEO.

• Oversee the end-to-end development of automation and AI-enabled software solutions for internal clients.
• Support the design and implementation of AI strategy within production pipelines.
• Ensure alignment between product vision, technical feasibility, and business objectives.
• Collaborate with global teams to integrate best practices and maintain quality standards.
• Ensure scalable and agile production processes leveraging AI.
• Identify high-impact AI use cases across development, operations, and player experience in collaboration with the Scopely CTO and Mirai CEO.
• Drive the adoption of AI tools across various departments including Engineering, QA, Marketing, Business Development, and Analytics.
• Ensure responsible AI usage, governance, compliance, risk management, and ethical considerations.

Team Leadership and Development

A key aspect of this role involves building and mentoring high-performing, multidisciplinary teams focused on AI solution creation, integration, and adoption at scale. This includes developing local AI and technical talent within Saudi Arabia and the MENA region, with the goal of establishing a world-class center of excellence. The Director will also establish internship, mentorship, and training programs, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and inclusion.

The Director of AI will be responsible for building partnerships with global studios, academic institutions, and AI technology providers. This includes driving community initiatives such as AI jams and participating in local industry events to support the development of the regional gaming and AI ecosystem. Contributions to Mirai Studio's long-term strategy, operational excellence, and culture are also expected.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in software development and AI-related roles, with at least 7 years in senior leadership or executive positions. A proven track record of delivering high-quality software and AI-driven products is essential. Strong understanding of AI/ML, SAS production, and systems design is required, alongside experience in building and leading cross-functional teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, coupled with strong operational and delivery discipline, are necessary. Preferred experience includes working within the MENA region, growing and mentoring talent, building high-performing teams, and experience with ecosystem building or local community initiatives. Arabic language or cultural fluency is also preferred.
