About the Director Of Group Sales Role

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Director Of Group Sales to lead the group sales efforts for properties hosting significant events with over 300 peak rooms. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, involves managing both reactive and proactive group sales activities, contributing to revenue goals, and ensuring guest and associate satisfaction. The role requires a focus on implementing brand service strategies and fostering long-term customer relationships to achieve sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the property’s group sales initiatives for large-scale events.
• Solicit, book, and develop local group business opportunities.
• Recommend booking goals for sales team members and develop group sales revenue and operational budgets.
• Collaborate with the management team to create and implement group sales and marketing plans.
• Assist with the selling and execution of group sales promotions.
• Ensure the seamless execution of booked business, from proposal generation to contract writing and customer correspondence.
• Oversee the effective resolution of guest issues arising from the sales process.
• Maximize group revenue opportunities through up-selling and accurate revenue forecasting for catering and group rooms.
• Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure property needs are met and sales efforts are complementary.
• Interact effectively with clients, internal departments, vendors, and the local community to maintain guest satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with operations to execute sales strategies at the hotel level.
• Manage and direct the on-property group sales effort to achieve revenue goals by targeting high-value accounts and implementing effective sales deployment strategies.
• Partner with Human Resources to attract, develop, and retain talent, and to forecast talent needs.
• Identify, train, and mentor group sales associates, utilizing available on-the-job training tools.
• Share responsibility for achieving group revenue goals and ensuring guest and associate satisfaction.
• Provide day-to-day leadership oversight to on-property group sales associates, focusing on building long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area. A 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major is required. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in a related field, coupled with 4 years of relevant experience, will be considered.
