About the Role

Courtyard by Marriott in Riyadh is seeking a full-time Life Guard to join their team. This role is open to Saudi nationals only and requires 0-1 years of experience. The position offers a dynamic environment focused on guest safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

The Life Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests within the swimming area. This includes:

• Observing swimmers and the swimming area for any signs of distress, dangerous conditions, or unsafe activities.
• Implementing appropriate rescue techniques when swimmers require assistance.
• Promoting and enforcing the rules and regulations of the recreation facility.
• Identifying situations where guests may not be able to participate safely and informing a supervisor or manager.
• Providing assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Maintaining a clean and organized pool deck by washing and mopping.
• Obtaining, folding, and stacking towels according to company procedures.
• Contributing to a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests.

General Duties and Professional Conduct

In addition to direct safety duties, the Life Guard is expected to uphold company standards and contribute to a positive work environment:

• Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Completing required safety training and certifications.
• Adhering to company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality, and protecting company assets.
• Welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, ensuring a professional appearance.
• Anticipating and addressing guest service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
• Communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
• Supporting coworkers with dignity and respect.
• Complying with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Visually inspecting equipment for defects.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks:

• Moving at a speed required to respond to work situations, which may include running or jogging.
• Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or entire work shifts.
• Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and over 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigating sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as ladders, stairs, and ramps.
• Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position must meet the following criteria:

• High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• 0-1 years of related work experience is required.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Current First Aid Certification.
• Any additional certifications or training required by local and state agencies.
