About the Steward Role at W Hotels, Riyadh

W Hotels is seeking a Steward to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of the hotel's kitchen and service areas. The role requires a dedicated individual with 0-1 years of experience, ready to support the culinary and service teams.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The Steward will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and related areas. Key duties include:

• Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Washing and disinfecting kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Receiving deliveries, properly storing perishables, and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
• Ensuring that all cleaned wares are stored in their designated areas.
• Utilizing detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the three-compartment sink for effective dish cleaning.
• Inspecting, pulling, and stacking cleaned items, and returning soiled items for re-washing.
• Racking and spraying items with hot water to remove food residue.
• Sorting, soaking, and washing silverware.
• Breaking down dirty bus tubs.
• Emptying and maintaining trashcans and the dumpster area.
• Cleaning and mopping all assigned departmental areas.
• Disposing of glass in the appropriate containers.
• Breaking down cardboard boxes and placing them and other recyclables in the designated bins.

Operational Standards and Safety

Adherence to company policies and safety procedures is paramount. This includes:

• Following all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
• Reporting any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions to management.
• Completing all required safety training and certifications.
• Protecting company assets at all times.
• Communicating with others using clear and professional language.
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Supporting team efforts to achieve common goals.
• Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements of the Role

The Steward role involves physical tasks that require stamina and mobility. Essential physical requirements include:

• The ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• The capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• The ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Work Environment and Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The Steward will work within the dynamic environment of W Hotels, contributing to the overall guest experience through diligent support of kitchen operations.
