About the Visual Merchandising Officer Role

ABYAT, a leading retail store in the Middle East, is seeking a Visual Merchandising Officer for its outlet in Riyadh. This full-time position is responsible for creating and implementing visually appealing product displays and showroom layouts to enhance the customer shopping experience and maintain brand standards.

Role Purpose and Responsibilities

The Visual Merchandising Officer will develop and execute creative visual merchandising concepts that enhance product presentation across the outlet. This includes designing and implementing visually compelling product displays, window arrangements, showroom layouts, and promotional installations. All displays must align with ABYAT’s brand identity, seasonal themes, and commercial objectives. The role requires the use of AutoCAD and SketchUp to create detailed floor plans, 3D renderings, mock-ups, and proposed display layouts. Regular store visits will be conducted to evaluate display effectiveness and recommend improvements. The officer will also support the implementation of visual merchandising standards and guidelines, and train store staff on these standards and product presentation. Collaboration with Marketing, Store Operations, and Product/Category teams is essential to align visual merchandising activities with business needs. Monitoring display materials and supplies, and staying updated on retail trends and best practices are also key aspects of this role. Maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and visually appealing store environment is expected.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, Fashion Design, or a related field. Proven experience in visual merchandising, preferably within the retail, showroom, furniture, home furnishing, or lifestyle products sectors, is required. Strong experience in creating product displays, store layouts, window displays, and promotional setups is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp is a mandatory requirement for this role. The ideal candidate will have strong creativity, a good design sense, and meticulous attention to detail. A solid understanding of the customer journey, product visibility, and the retail shopping experience is necessary. The ability to translate concepts into practical in-store execution is also important.
