Role Overview

Air Products is seeking a Material Management Specialist to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves close collaboration with Operations & Maintenance teams. The specialist will manage facility spare parts inventory and consumables to optimize plant costs and minimize equipment unavailability, while understanding the capital costs associated with inventory in line with business needs. The role also includes daily support for safe, reliable, and efficient management of bills of materials and warehouse inventory using SAP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Bill of Materials (BOM) from supplier data and input storage locations into SAP.
  • Determine optimal spare parts levels for operational facilities based on in-country availability to meet business requirements.
  • Manage general plant provisioning, including the setup and management of 'zone' stores.
  • Provide warehouse support during plant commissioning and maintain accurate inventory control.
  • Contribute warehouse input for scheduled outages to management.
  • Manage the shipment and control of facility spares, both inward and outward.
  • Oversee the stock replacement and inventory check programs.
  • Arrange emergency transport with vendors as needed.
  • Provide training and support in "hard goods" inventory management methods and SAP transactions.
  • Manage the safe storage of capital spares, both onsite and offsite.
  • Support overall construction and commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to understand plant issues and implement cost-effective solutions to ensure customer satisfaction in safety, reliability, product quality, and supply flexibility.
  • Provide support during turnarounds (TAR), ensuring spares and materials are available to the site team.
  • Respond to emergencies 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company safety, health, and environment standards, fulfilling mandatory safety requirements and activities.
  • Execute warehouse activities in compliance with EH&S requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of EH&S related procedures supporting warehouse activities.
  • Supervise and assist warehouse contractors with assigned site activities, ensuring adherence to safety and reliability philosophies.
  • Understand environmental regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 5-10 years of experience in material management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SAP for managing bill of materials and warehouse inventory.
  • Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and respect across the organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of inventory capital costs and optimization strategies.

Work Environment

The Material Management Specialist will work full-time in Al Jubail, Eastern, closely aligning with operations and maintenance teams to achieve operational objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to managing inventory and supporting plant activities, including emergency response availability.
