About the RCM Engineer Role at KBR Saudi Arabia
KBR Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced RCM Engineer to join our team in Al Jubail. This full-time role is integral to KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS), which delivers holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset lifecycle. The RCM Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and executing the Total Reliability Program Framework throughout the remaining asset lifecycle within a refinery environment.
Role Context and Objectives
The primary objective of this position is to establish and govern comprehensive reliability programs that sustain operational excellence and safeguard asset reliability. This involves applying world-class licensed process technologies, deep technical domain expertise, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets, ensuring continuous assurance and mitigating potential threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the framework and methodology for criticality assessment and reliability improvement programs for refinery assets.
- Lead and perform Asset Criticality Analysis (ACA) for all refinery assets, including data collection, workshop facilitation, report compilation, and SAP data population.
- Champion the implementation of various reliability methodologies by establishing programs to sustain operational excellence.
- Act as the focal point for reviews and technical matters related to reliability culture development in projects and operating facilities.
- Administer and perform Asset Lifecycle management procedures, including Asset criticality ranking, SAP Taxonomy, Asset Operating Limits (IOW), maintenance development, Master data developments in SAP, Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP, and active SAP-PMs implementation.
- Initiate and conduct essential studies for facilities and operational asset improvements, providing specialized technical service.
- Consult on complex engineering problems, designs, and projects, coordinating with plant-wide teams.
- Adapt lessons learned from benchmark and safety cases, providing recommendations to ensure continuous assurance for Safety-Critical Equipment.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to analyze integrity and performance, suggesting methods for chronic failure prevention.
- Support the review of the Total Reliability program KPIs and deliver periodic outcomes and reports to the Project Manager.
- Collaborate closely with the project execution team to ensure commitment to the Reliability Transformation Program.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or a relevant engineering discipline with sound fundamentals and technical skills.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil, Gas, or petrochemical industry.
- Proven site reliability background and strong knowledge of Refinery Processes.
- Experience in static and rotating equipment, instrument and electrical systems, including understanding their failure modes and potential solutions.
- Experience with operations, maintenance, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand-over activities is an advantage.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Training in root cause failure analysis (RCA) methodology (*, Apollo Root Cause Analysis by Reality Charting or similar).
- Ability to facilitate RCA and ACA processes effectively.
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) is an added advantage.
- Well-aware of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to plant operation reliability and able to support and drive them.
- Demonstrated experience in administering Asset Lifecycle management procedures, including SAP Taxonomy, Asset Operating Limits (IOW), SAP Master data developments, and Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP.
- Experience in implementing predictive maintenance policies and increasing asset availability.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a diversified and critical environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in verbal and written English.
Reporting and Collaboration
The RCM Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager and lead the Reliability section, ensuring timely delivery of periodic outcomes and reports on project progress. This role requires close collaboration with the project execution team to ensure full commitment and success of the Reliability Transformation Program.
