Role Overview

The Instrument Technician VI is responsible for executing both preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities for instrument equipment. This role requires strong proficiency in instrumentation skills, particularly in preventive maintenance practices and effective troubleshooting to ensure reliable plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on various instrument equipment.
• Issue and close work permits in accordance with operational procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrument equipment to minimize downtime.
• Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Review preventive maintenance procedures for all assigned equipment, suggesting improvements where necessary.
• Utilize hard communicators for transmitter calibration.
• Undertake leadership tasks as a lead technician when required.

Required Skills and Technical Knowledge

• Proficiency in instrumentation skills, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
• Working knowledge of SAP for closing and updating assigned work orders.
• Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIL) testing.
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma in Instrument Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience as an Instrument Technician within the Petrochemical or Oil & Gas sectors.
