About the Role

Guardian Industries is seeking an HSE Supervisor with strong Chinese-English translation capabilities to support on-site project execution and commissioning activities. This full-time, 2-year contract position is based in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. The role integrates safety oversight with essential communication support between international teams, ensuring adherence to safety standards and fostering effective collaboration across site operations.

Role Context and Collaboration

This position involves close collaboration with the Guardian site team, contractors, and commissioning teams. The HSE Supervisor will serve as a critical liaison between Chinese and English-speaking stakeholders within a dynamic, multicultural project environment. The focus is on maintaining safety excellence, ensuring clear communication, and promoting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct EHS training for contractors in both Chinese and English.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and escalate issues as needed.
  • Perform daily safety inspections, including those for high-risk activities and permit-to-work implementation.
  • Carry out health monitoring activities, such as respiratory fit testing.
  • Participate in EHS meetings, communicating observations and concerns.
  • Provide real-time translation from English to Chinese during meetings, training sessions, and commissioning activities.
  • Translate technical and training documents from Chinese to English.
  • Support effective communication between site teams and Chinese stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with commissioning and onsite teams during project activities and walkarounds.
  • Manage translation schedules to support multiple teams as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in both Chinese and English, with demonstrated strong translation capabilities.
  • Experience providing translation support in meeting or project environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Basic understanding of EHS concepts, including permit to work, risk assessment, and incident investigation.

Additional Strengths

  • Previous experience in safety roles or formal EHS training.
  • Familiarity with MBM/PBM guiding principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Strong coordination and adaptability when working across multiple teams.
