About the Hydrology & Drainage Engineer Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Hydrology & Drainage Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves contributing to significant infrastructure and master planning projects across the Middle East, with a primary focus on Saudi Arabia. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and support of planning, design, and analysis for advanced stormwater and flood mitigation systems. Your work will be integral to high-profile infrastructure and master planning initiatives. You will conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies to assess flood risk, manage stormwater, and inform infrastructure design. This includes designing various stormwater drainage structures such as culverts, bridges, channels, swales, ponds, and comprehensive stormwater networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment, stormwater management, and infrastructure design.
  • Design stormwater drainage structures including culverts, bridges, channels, swales, ponds, and stormwater networks.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), erosion protection, and flood control solutions.
  • Perform rainfall and runoff analysis using meteorological and morphological data.
  • Utilize industry-standard hydrology and modeling tools to develop design solutions.
  • Review and ensure the quality and timely delivery of design packages from pre-concept through to Issued For Construction (IFC).
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate drainage systems into wider infrastructure designs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in PC software packages commonly used in hydrology and storm drainage design.

Desired Skills and Expertise

  • Proven experience in major flood mitigation and stormwater management schemes for roads and master plan developments, particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
  • Strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and drainage infrastructure design.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WMS, HYFRAN+, InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D, Bentley Suite, ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of sustainability criteria for drainage systems (SuDS).
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, timely engineering solutions in a collaborative environment.

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, within the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The role is part of Parsons Corporation's operations in the region.
