Lead Process Engineer

About the Role

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role involves leading process engineering efforts for medium to large-sized projects, from conceptual design through detailed engineering. The position requires extensive experience in the design of process units, pipelines, utilities, and offsite facilities within the oil and gas sector.

Role Overview

The Lead Process Engineer will report to both Discipline Management and Project Management. This role demands a thorough understanding of project and process engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, and adherence to international standards, codes, specifications, and procedures. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and ensure the integrity of process engineering scope and on-schedule delivery of work within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 10-15 Process Engineers and related discipline engineers and designers.
• Scope projects, including defining process deliverables.
• Review and approve process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, Design Basis documents, Process Narratives, Process Calculations, and Equipment Specification documents.
• Review and approve process engineering work plans and basis of design documents.
• Estimate work-hours for process engineering tasks.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team and clients.
• Ensure design integrity of the process engineering scope, manage staff performance, and ensure on-schedule delivery within budget.
• Lead technical presentations to clients and their representatives as required.
• Serve as a technical resource for Process Engineers and related discipline engineers and designers.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure correct application of applicable procedures and standards (client, KBR, and international).

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in upstream Oil and Gas Facilities Design.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HYSYS simulation for upstream Oil and Gas projects.
• Proven experience in the design of process units, pipelines, utilities, and offsite facilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of projects/process engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, and international standards.

Required Skills

Work Environment
