Project Lead Engineer 800xA

About the Role

ABB is seeking a Project Lead Engineer - 800xA to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This full-time position reports to the Operations Manager and involves designing and executing Distributed Control System (DCS) engineering activities for service projects of medium to high complexity. The role focuses on delivering quality customer service while adhering to standard work instructions, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

Role Context and Contribution

This position operates within a hybrid/on-site work model and contributes to the SA-OPC Business Line within the Middle East region. The Project Lead Engineer will support engineering activities and project execution, collaborating with key stakeholders such as Sales, Product Management, and Business Development teams to provide customer-focused solutions and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead medium to high complexity projects efficiently across all disciplines.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures for engineering assignments in projects.
• Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for service engineering projects and programs.
• Identify and document customer requirements, analyze existing processes and interfaces, identify process gaps, and design future integrations in collaboration with business resources.
• Create work plans and cost estimates for the overall scope, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of quality deliverables.
• Mentor and guide the team through various project aspects.
• Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with business and other IT teams to deliver solutions within established timelines.
• Assist with customer and technical issues, interacting with official contracts.
• Proactively identify suggestions for product, quality, and customer service improvements and discuss them with management.
• Interact with various stakeholders, understand customer demands, and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in process automation.
• Collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to clarify potential issues or provide solutions for engineering errors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated understanding of the complete project life cycle, including project deliverables.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Region, operating under a hybrid/on-site work model. The role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders within the Middle East region.
