QC Welding Inspector

About the Role

Zaramiz Company is seeking an experienced QC Welding Inspector for a contract position in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This role involves monitoring and ensuring the quality of welding and fabrication activities at various project sites across Saudi Arabia, adhering to stringent quality standards and project specifications.

Role Overview

The QC Welding Inspector will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections to ensure all welding and fabrication work complies with approved drawings, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), welding procedures, project specifications, applicable codes, and Saudi Aramco requirements. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving non-conformities.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect welding and fabrication activities to ensure full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, WPS/PQR, and project standards.
• Perform fit-up, welding, visual, dimensional, and final inspections on piping, structures, equipment, and related components.
• Verify welder qualifications, welding consumables, joint preparation, preheating, interpass temperature, and welding parameters.
• Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), welder qualification records, Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and all relevant welding documentation.
• Coordinate and monitor Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT), as required.
• Identify welding defects and non-conformities, ensuring appropriate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions are implemented and closed in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports, weld maps, inspection records, test reports, and all Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) documentation.
• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, client representatives, and third-party inspectors during all inspection activities.
• Ensure strict compliance with Saudi Aramco standards and applicable international welding codes and specifications.
• Support mechanical completion, punch-list clearance, dossier preparation, and project handover activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience as a QC Welding Inspector.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and ensuring the quality of welding and fabrication activities.
• Proficiency in conducting inspections according to approved drawings, ITPs, welding procedures, project specifications, and applicable codes.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco requirements and international welding codes and specifications.

Work Environment

This is a contract position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Region, with responsibilities extending to project sites across Saudi Arabia. The role requires coordination with various stakeholders in a dynamic project environment.
