About the Role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Specialist, Services and Solutions Procurement to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role focuses on developing and driving a project procurement strategy to support business growth, profitability, and cash flow improvement. The successful candidate will manage Project Resale materials & services, Non-Project purchasing, Logistics, and other functional areas as required, while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships and a customer-driven ethos. The position also involves formulating risk management strategies and collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate business risks, offering significant development opportunities and exposure to strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project procurement strategies to enhance business growth, profitability, and cash flow through continuous productivity improvements.
  • Manage procurement activities for Project requirements, ensuring adherence to schedules, specifications, and budgets.
  • Formulate and execute Project Procurement Plans in collaboration with Project Managers/Coordinators.
  • Identify and qualify key third-party suppliers and sub-contractors for framework agreements to secure competitive pricing and services.
  • Administer bid panels, issue bid requests, coordinate bidder responses, analyze bids, and prepare commercial bid summaries and recommendations.
  • Influence the project bid/proposal process by ensuring optimal third-party strategies for competitive cost positioning.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with company and client requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate risks and implement appropriate risk management plans to prevent cost/schedule overruns and ensure supply continuity.
  • Collaborate with Sales/Proposal, Project Delivery, and peers to drive material productivity and operational synergies.
  • Handle Project RFQs, commercial evaluations, PO awards, and PO administration through to final delivery and close-out.
  • Develop and maintain a commercially sound vendor base, survey the market for new supply sources, and manage the Project "Approved Vendor List."
  • Manage continuous evaluation of vendor performance.
  • Provide logistics and warehouse support, including seaworthiness packing and delivery to customer sites.
  • Deploy digital transformation tools and streamline end-to-end processes.
  • Ensure compliance with trade requirements, rules, and due diligence checks.
  • Perform bid analysis and make recommendations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including import/export tariffs, documentation, customs, and revenue.
  • Manage and undertake expediting activities across third-party and inter-company supply chains.
  • Promote integrity, professionalism, and adherence to Schneider Electric ethical standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supply chain activities and participate in organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regional and global policies, procedures, and quality accreditations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Supply Chain or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, preferably in process automation, Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC), or Large Oil & Gas industries.
  • Experience with sub-contract services and outsourcing.
  • Strong knowledge of project procurement practices and cost structures.
  • Strong knowledge of contract types, contractual terms and conditions, with experience in negotiating and developing contracts.
  • Experience in international sourcing and developing global supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in using integrated ERP systems (*, SAP) and procurement tools such as SRM.
  • Experience operating within a cross-matrix organization is advantageous.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels of management, demonstrating outstanding verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and decision-making capability.
  • Sound understanding of other business functions, particularly Project Management, Tendering, and Finance.
  • Proven project management and problem-solving skills with a track record of achievements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment and achieve credibility with colleagues.
  • A strong team player with a passion for excellence, driving improvements, and a customer-focused approach to resolving issues.
  • Business standard English fluency is essential.
