About the Role
KBR Saudi Arabia is seeking a Sr. Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join its Offshore team in Al Khobar. This full-time position is essential for maintaining the integrity and longevity of assets through specialized expertise in materials selection, corrosion prevention, and assessment. The role requires a strong technical foundation to guide decision-making and ensure compliance with Aramco and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Brownfield and Greenfield Offshore Projects, acting as a technical focal point for materials engineering, and managing project bids, execution, resources, and deliverables.
- Develop Corrosion Management Programs, Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Coating Selection Diagrams, and Corrosion Loop Diagrams.
- Conduct corrosion assessments on pipelines, piping, and equipment, with a preference for software experience with ECE-5.
- Perform Non-metallic Material Studies, including assessments and material selection for appropriate non-metallic materials.
- Provide technical support for various disciplines and project-related tasks and workshops, such as OSI, RBI, and Corrosion Inspection Manuals for operating assets and new projects.
- Develop and resolve Technical Queries, review and approve materials substitutions, and address site fabrication issues.
- Lead engineering assessments based on applicable codes including API 579, BS DNV RP F101, ASME ******, ISO 15156, and ISO 21457.
- Review Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) and Non-Material Requirements (NMRs), primarily related to the materials scope.
- Review integrity assessment reports, which may include ILI reports, Fitness for Purpose (FFP) / Recommendations for Repair Reports (RRR), ILI raw data, and Direct Assessment reports as primary input.
- Assist in the training and development of junior team members.
- Liaise with global offices for support as needed.
- Conduct site visits outside offices when required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree in engineering is mandatory.
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in offshore engineering.
Experience
Candidates should possess over 15 years of relevant experience in the field of materials and corrosion engineering, specifically within offshore projects.
Work Environment
This role is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and operates within a full-time capacity, supporting offshore projects.
