Job Description

Role Summary

KBR Saudi Arabia is seeking a Sr. Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves applying specialized expertise in materials and corrosion engineering to support various projects and operating assets, ensuring strict adherence to international and Saudi Aramco standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarize with relevant international and Saudi Aramco Best Practices, Engineering standards, and procedures.
  • Carry out corrosion assessments on pipelines, piping, and equipment, with a preference for software experience.
  • Develop Corrosion Management Program (CMP) Reports, Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Coating Selection Diagrams, and Corrosion Loop Diagrams.
  • Provide technical support for project-related tasks, including RBI and Corrosion Inspection Manuals for operating assets and new projects, along with On-Stream Inspection (OSI) diagrams.
  • Lead engineering assessments based on applicable codes such as API 579, BS 7910, ASME B31G, and DNV RP F101.

Technical Review and Guidance

  • Offer guidance for performing corrosion calculations and interpreting metallurgical codes and standards, considering their impact on detail design.
  • Review Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) and No Material Release (NMRs) primarily related to materials scope.
  • Review Integrity assessment reports, which may include ILI reports, Fitness for Purpose (FFP) / Recommendations for Repair Reports (RRR), ILI raw data, and Direct Assessment reports as primary inputs.

Collaboration and Support

  • Coordinate technical issues with other engineering disciplines as required.
  • Provide necessary inputs and data to other disciplines according to requirements and procedures.
  • Interface with Client representatives to resolve technical issues.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior team members.
  • Liaise with global offices for support where needed, ensuring convergence with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a relevant engineering field.
  • Possession of a Degree in Engineering.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The role requires collaboration within a professional team and with global experts, and may involve conducting site visits outside the office as and when required.
