AN HVAC Technician

About the Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking an HVAC Technician to join the Engineering team at the First Vignette Collection in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel) in Dammam, Eastern region. This is a full-time position requiring 0-1 years of experience. The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems throughout the hotel, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and guest comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning and ventilation equipment, including split AC units, package units, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, and ventilation systems.
• Check and maintain compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, thermostats, sensors, and other HVAC components.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults in HVAC equipment.
• Monitor refrigerant levels, pressure, temperature, and overall system performance, performing charging, recovery, and leak detection as required.
• Clean and maintain filters, coils, drain pans, air vents, and condensate drainage systems to prevent water leakage.
• Respond to guest room and hotel maintenance requests related to air conditioning and temperature control.
• Carry out emergency repairs and attend to HVAC breakdowns.
• Ensure all HVAC equipment operates safely and efficiently according to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems in guest rooms, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas.
• Record all maintenance activities, faults, repairs, and equipment conditions.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and complete assigned tasks on time.
• Monitor HVAC equipment condition and report major faults or replacement requirements to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
• Maintain proper stock levels of HVAC spare parts, tools, and materials, reporting shortages as needed.
• Use HVAC testing and diagnostic equipment correctly and safely.
• Maintain the HVAC workshop, tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Adhere to all hotel engineering procedures, health & safety requirements, and environmental standards.
• Support the Engineering team with other maintenance activities and assist with energy-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption during maintenance work.
• Maintain a professional appearance and wear the hotel uniform correctly.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by Engineering Management.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
• Strong technical skills in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to work in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in Dammam, Eastern region, and is a full-time position within the Engineering team at the Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel, part of the Vignette Collection by IHG Hotels & Resorts. The position involves working in a hotel setting, responding to various maintenance requests to ensure guest comfort and operational efficiency.
