The Role of a Customs Classification Specialist

The Customs Classification Specialist is responsible for the precise classification of imported and exported goods, playing a critical role in streamlining logistics operations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of customs procedures to prevent delays and ensure regulatory adherence within Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Classify imported and exported goods according to customs tariff codes.
• Review shipment documents and verify compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with the customs clearance team for smooth processing.
• Ensure accurate product classification to avoid customs delays.
• Determine correct HS Code classification for products.
• Review invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi customs regulations and requirements.
• Coordinate with the operations team on customs declarations.
• Resolve classification discrepancies and documentation issues.
• Keep updated with customs regulations and tariff changes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in customs classification or a related field.
• A background in freight forwarding or customs brokerage is preferred.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, within the Eastern Region. The role involves working closely with internal teams to support efficient logistics and customs operations.
