About the Role: Data Center Technician

Microsoft is seeking a Data Center Technician (DCT) to join its Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team. This full-time position is based in Dammam, Eastern Province. As a DCT, you will be instrumental in deploying, maintaining, and decommissioning hardware within Microsoft's global data center infrastructure, which supports critical online services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. Core Responsibilities

The Data Center Technician will be responsible for a range of hardware management tasks. This includes staging and setting up hardware for deployment, performing troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment, and executing hardware decommissions for routine changes and upgrades. All tasks will be performed following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and minimize disruption to business operations.

• Perform hardware deployments, including staging and setup.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on data center equipment.
• Execute hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes according to SOPs.
• Perform post-execution quality checks to verify proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling, adhering to safety protocols and deployment standards.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
• Assist and provide guidance to other technicians on complex tasks.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and participating in team meetings.
• Demonstrate accountability and ownership for data center facilities and service quality.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Data Center Technician role should possess a foundational understanding of computer hardware and components. Prior experience supporting IT equipment or related technology is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement.
