ENGINEER QA / QC CIVIL

About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Civil QA/QC Engineer to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time position is responsible for performing civil Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities for projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently, on time, and to established quality standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement the Project Quality Plan and Alfanar Quality Management System (QMS), including coordinating inspections with clients, consultants, and vendors.
• Maintain quality documentation such as system manuals, international and national standards, client specifications, technical data sheets, handbooks, product catalogues, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Verify accreditations, certifications, and profiles of vendors and third-party agencies.
• Manage quality records, including logbooks, weekly QA/QC reports, internal inspection reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Prepare quality-related documents such as ITPs, Method Statements (MOS), checklists, and weekly QA/QC reports.
• Implement the Alfanar Lesson Learned Program to reduce punch points during project handover.
• Ensure works comply with Project Technical Specifications (PTS), Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings, and approved method statements.
• Conduct site installation inspections, material receiving inspections, and report findings to relevant authorities.
• Control and monitor inspection and test requirements and data against project PTS.
• Assure the maintenance and calibration of inspection and testing equipment.
• Coordinate with execution teams, project management, clients, and consultants on QC matters.
• Liaise with independent testing laboratories for material testing, follow up on reports, and submit them to consultants.
• Report quality-related issues to the Project Manager for action and to the TQM Manager for information.
• Maintain traceable, retrievable, and secure quality records and logs for QC documents.
• Verify test results, report findings, and provide recommendations to the Project Manager.

Role Accountabilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates, ensuring fair task distribution.
• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets within schedules and budget.
• Prepare periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
• Resolve operational problems and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Ensure quality requirements are met and develop effective quality control processes.
• Coordinate written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities.
• Comply with relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil quality assurance and quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to implement QMS and project quality plans.
• Strong understanding of international and national standards, client specifications, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in preparing quality-related documents and reports.
