About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a GIS I&C Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the successful installation, repair, and fault elimination of switching systems globally for PGHV. The engineer will represent PG through specialized technical knowledge, particularly in client interactions at installation sites, while upholding project deadlines and cost-performance ratios. This position embodies the PG QA philosophy, adapting to specific construction site conditions to ensure all installation and commissioning work is executed to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation and maintenance work independently.
• Ensure compliance with installation requirements and instructions, and observe necessary accident prevention measures, including guidelines for work on live system components.
• Manage red-mark drawings and documents, incorporating any changes or modifications required during installation.
• Advise the sub-supplier's installation superintendent on planning and coordinating the workforce to meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with the PG Project Manager to establish the status of completed and pending work.
• Inspect arriving material for completeness and potential damage, and coordinate material handling with sub-suppliers' Material Control according to their procedures.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment within the PG scope of supply, in cooperation with the PG Project Manager.
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests, and PG installation completion documentation.
• Oversee and coordinate loop check activities, and participate in site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
• Ensure the competent execution of all assigned tasks.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by management to fulfill job requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge in GIS I&C engineering and high voltage systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage installation and maintenance tasks effectively.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and accident prevention measures, especially for live system components.
• Proficiency in documentation and reporting, including red-mark drawings and non-conformance reports.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for interacting with sub-suppliers and project managers.
