Mechanical Project Engineer

About the Role

Jones Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Level Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience, preferably with a background in Data Centre or Mission Critical Projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical, public health, and fire life safety systems from initial client concept to detailed design, including CHW, HVAC, fire suppression, and drainage systems.
• Ensure all mechanical design drawings and specifications adhere to local regulations (KSA/UAE), relevant standards (BS, IEC, NFPA), and client requirements.
• Provide technical input to the BIM team for the preparation of coordinated drawings and single-line diagrams for all mechanical systems.
• Conduct detailed technical reviews of existing design drawings and calculations.
• Raise and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs) for any necessary client or consultant clarifications.
• Liaise with the technical director to present designs and coordinate changes resulting from site conditions or MEP interfaces.
• Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet robust industry and legal standards.
• Lead the coordination of engineering services.
• Adopt a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions.
• Provide Value Engineering solutions.
• Liaise with estimation teams during the tender phases of projects.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in mechanical project engineering. Prior experience with Data Centre or Mission Critical Projects is preferred for this role.

Technical Expertise

The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, public health, and fire life safety systems, along with the ability to ensure compliance with international and local standards. Proficiency in reviewing technical designs and calculations is essential.

Collaboration and Communication

Effective communication and coordination skills are necessary for liaising with clients, consultants, BIM teams, technical directors, and estimation teams. The ability to present designs and manage changes is also important.
