About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer with a specialization in Electrical systems, including Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, and Communication Systems, to join our team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and focuses on supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions within railway projects.

Role Overview

This role is responsible for the detailed review of technical documentation and the supervision of construction works related to electrical disciplines within railway projects. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with applicable standards and requirements, contributing to robust and compliant engineering outcomes. Collaboration with electrical engineers and interface with internal and external stakeholders are key to ensuring successful project delivery from concept design through to final handover, including testing and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical documentation, including design drawings, reports, shop drawings, and as-built documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements, interfaces, stakeholder needs, and applicable standards.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary reviews of technical documents to ensure full coordination of deliverables.
  • Participate in the production and review of value engineering proposals.
  • Conduct quality inspections and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential issues and deviations in collaboration with Project Control Teams.
  • Ensure adherence to the project and company quality program and policies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
  • Promote a culture of safety.
  • Perform walkdowns, attend site visits, and participate in meetings as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineering degree from an accredited University in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably combining construction supervision and technical review.
  • Experience performing engineering work in accordance with railway systems procedures, standards, and practices, and KSA regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in electrical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of or experience using electrical and fire protection codes and standards applicable to railway systems in KSA, including Saudi Building Code, Civil Defence requirements, and NFPA standards.
  • Experience in analyzing project requirements and verifying their implementation in technical documentation and site works through inspections and testing.
  • Experience working in coordination with multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with cross-functional project organization members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions in dynamic project environments.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality electrical projects.
