Operations Supervisor Role at DHL Global Forwarding

DHL Global Forwarding, the Group's air, ocean, and road freight specialist, is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join its team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves overseeing critical operational activities to ensure efficient and safe freight forwarding processes.

Purpose of the Role

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating warehouse and manual handling plans and processes to ensure safe and efficient operations within organization-owned or leased warehouses. This role involves guiding a team to execute daily tasks, meet work schedules, and achieve operational targets, contributing to the timely processing of shipments and effective inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate warehouse and manual handling plans and processes for safe and efficient operations.
• Coach and guide the team for execution of day-to-day tasks and activities, ensuring work schedules and targets are met.
• Monitor operations activities to receive incoming shipments and process outgoing shipments within service performance timings.
• Participate in planning and scheduling inventory, and overseeing ordering of products to meet organizational needs.
• Resolve conflicts and support coordination of delivery schedules with shippers and customers.
• Maintain up-to-date stock information, review daily material movement, and compare actual production schedules versus inventory levels.
• Ensure inventory accuracy of customers' inventory by conducting daily/weekly inventory cycle counts.
• Perform inventory control, conduct stock turnover analyses, and manage material scheduling.
• Review inspection of incoming material for conformity with order specifications and identification of defects.
• Execute safety/security and inventory control programs to ensure goods and equipment are safely operated, properly maintained, and stored.
• Review optimum utilization of warehouse facilities for storing and distributing material goods, including raw materials, finished products, tools, and packaging materials.
• Highlight issues and opportunities, and execute practices for warehouse and manual handling focused on promoting efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Operations Supervisor position should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in operations or freight forwarding, demonstrating a strong understanding of warehouse management and logistics processes.
