Project Lead Engineer Primary

About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Lead Engineer – Primary to join their team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role involves leading the design, communication, and implementation of operational plans for engineering projects. The position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on managing all engineering activities from design to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Lead Engineer – Primary, you will be responsible for preparing designs, project controls, and specifications, as well as managing schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, and equipment. You will monitor project progress and performance, resolving operational problems and minimizing delays. This role also includes identifying and gathering necessary resources for project completion.

Impact and Technical Leadership

You will provide technical support for tendering and execution of customer projects, prepare primary drawings and Bill of Quantities for engineered Gas Insulated Switchgears, and act as a Technical Lead for Substations. This includes overall responsibility for managing and leading all project engineering activities, preparing specifications, checking supplier offers, and coordinating with Supply Chain Management for procurement.

Daily Tasks and Project Contributions

• Lead and attend discussions with customers, handling site queries and taking necessary actions.
• Provide design support to apprentices, entry-level engineers, technicians, and support teams.
• Review deliverables before submission to clients.
• Review and prepare technical documents for the procurement of Current and Voltage transformers.
• Participate in customer meetings and project review meetings as required.
• Contribute to projects aimed at reducing lead time and cost of GIS solutions by developing solutions based on technical requirements.
• Adhere to the detailed project plan to ensure on-time delivery and prioritize the quality of deliverables.
• Focus on optimized solutions that benefit both the customer and Hitachi Energy.
• Interface with civil, steel, and application engineers on systems/solutions from Hitachi Energy/EPC companies.

Responsibilities may include managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision, and coaching lower-level professionals. The role involves addressing difficult and sometimes complex problems.
