Role Overview
The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking a Business Development Representative to join its team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for a professional with 5-10 years of experience, focusing on generating sales and growth initiatives within the ABS Quality Evaluations Inc. territory/region. This role offers a natural growth path for individuals aspiring to more senior positions within the company, reporting directly to the Director of Business Development or Country Manager of ABS Quality Evaluations Inc.

Key Responsibilities
- Sell ABS QE services by leveraging the strength of local affiliates’ business structure.
- Define and maintain target lists of prospect clients for accounts within the region.
- Conduct client prospecting activities in the target region.
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy for the region to achieve defined sales targets.
- Provide sales forecast data, market insights, and customer information for sales planning.
- Manage expenses within allocated budgets and adhere to Company sales policies.
- Produce local proposals for clients and prospects in accordance with ABS QE procedures and pricing guidelines.
- Actively follow up on all proposals and conduct client presentations as required.
- Provide support to operations to ensure customers receive appropriate service.
- Assist in collections processes as necessary.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Business Development or Country Manager regarding opportunities, challenges, and other business matters.
- Participate in special projects and teams to support the overall development of the business.
- Meet or exceed delegated sales targets.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 5-10 years of business experience within the manufacturing and/or technical service industry.
- A track record of sales leadership, demonstrating a self-motivated professional approach.
- Familiarity with management systems is beneficial; alternatively, a proven ability to learn new areas quickly is critical.
- Sensitivity to multicultural environments.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- High energy and a strong commitment to succeed in sales and business development.
- Excellent communication skills, effective with both customers and the internal sales team.
- Proficiency with computers for preparing presentations, communications, and working within ABS QE’s operating platforms.
- A strong focus on results and a desire to achieve objectives despite challenges.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, related instructions, and the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
