Job Description

About the Role

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking a full-time Representative Business Development to join its team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This role is focused on generating sales and driving growth initiatives within the territory/region for ABS Quality Evaluations Inc. It is suited for professionals with 5-10 years of experience who are aiming for more senior positions within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell ABS QE services by leveraging the strength of local affiliates’ business structure.
  • Define and maintain target lists of prospective clients within the designated region.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve defined sales targets for the region.
  • Provide accurate sales forecast data, along with other relevant market and customer information, for sales planning purposes.
  • Manage expenses within allocated budgets and adhere strictly to Company sales policies.
  • Produce local proposals for clients and prospects, following ABS QE procedures and pricing guidelines.
  • Actively follow up on all submitted proposals and conduct client presentations as required.
  • Provide necessary support to operations to ensure customers receive appropriate service.
  • Assist in collections processes when necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Director of Business Development or Country Manager regarding opportunities, challenges, and other business matters.
  • Participate in special projects and teams as needed to support the overall business development.
  • Meet or exceed all delegated sales targets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or a recognized equivalent from an accredited university, or equivalent business/quality-related experience.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant business development or sales role.
  • Preferred: Business experience within the manufacturing and/or technical service industry.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Self-motivated professional with a proven track record in sales leadership.
  • High energy and a strong commitment to achieving success in sales and business development.
  • Proficiency with computers for preparing presentations, communications, and working within ABS QE’s operating platforms.
  • Familiarity with management systems is beneficial; otherwise, the ability to quickly learn new areas is critical.
  • Sensitivity to multicultural environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with customers and within the sales team.
  • Results-oriented with a strong desire to achieve objectives despite challenges.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, related instructions, and the ABS Employee Safety Policy.

Reporting Relationship

The Representative Business Development reports directly to the Director of Business Development or the Country Manager of ABS Quality Evaluations Inc.
