Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP)

About the Role

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP) to join their team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role involves designing, building, and supporting enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in infrastructure automation, cloud platform engineering, and DevOps, focusing on delivering secure, scalable, and highly automated cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
• Build secure and scalable cloud landing zones using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules following best engineering practices.
• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform automation.
• Support cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
• Implement cloud networking, IAM, security, and governance best practices.
• Deploy, configure, and support Kubernetes (GKE) environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud platform issues and provide technical guidance.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or DevOps.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expert knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience designing and deploying enterprise cloud landing zones.
• Strong experience with Git-based CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Google Cloud Build.
• Experience with Kubernetes (GKE), cloud networking, IAM, and cloud security.
• Proven experience supporting cloud migration and application modernization projects.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud Fabric FAST or enterprise landing zone frameworks.
• Experience with cloud governance, monitoring, and logging solutions.
• Experience working within large enterprise environments.
• Google Cloud certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Network Engineer, or Professional Cloud Security Engineer).
