Alfa Wood Industries, one of Saudi Arabia's largest wood manufacturing factories, is seeking a Technical Office Head Wood & Joinery. This full-time position is based in Dammam, Eastern Province, and requires a leader with strong factory-based experience in furniture, wooden doors, kitchens, wardrobes, and architectural joinery works.

Role Overview

The Technical Office Head will lead the technical office, overseeing estimation, shop drawing, and production-preparation activities. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a comprehensive understanding of wood manufacturing processes and project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the technical office and estimation team.
• Review enquiries, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, and contract requirements.
• Assign priorities and ensure timely completion of quotations and technical submissions.
• Supervise quantity take-offs, costing, shop drawings, material submittals, and cutting lists.
• Review and approve technical drawings and production packages before release to the factory.
• Ensure accuracy of dimensions, materials, hardware, finishes, quantities, and installation details.
• Establish clear workflows between sales, technical, estimation, procurement, production, QC, projects, and installation teams.
• Monitor quotation turnaround time and technical-office performance.
• Conduct technical meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Manage RFIs, consultant comments, design changes, and technical approvals.
• Lead site measurement activities and ensure coordination between drawings and actual site conditions.
• Improve drawing standards, costing accuracy, material optimization, and waste control.
• Support production planning and resolve technical issues during manufacturing and installation.
• Train, evaluate, and develop the technical-office team.
• Ensure all cutting lists and production details are accurate and complete.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Wood Technology, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience, including leadership experience within a furniture, wooden doors, or joinery factory.
• Advanced knowledge of wood materials, hardware, accessories, finishes, manufacturing, cutting lists, costing, and installation.
• Strong ability to review shop drawings, quantity take-offs, quotations, and production packages.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of furniture design, ERP, estimation, or production software is an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict quotation and production deadlines.
• Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A portfolio and evidence of previously managed joinery projects are required.
• Candidates must be willing to complete a practical and managerial assessment.
