About the Role

Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Thermal Spray Coating Specialist – APS / HVOF to join their Repair Shop team in Dammam. This full-time role focuses on the precision application of thermal spray coatings on gas turbine components, requiring hands-on expertise in all stages of the coating process.

Role Overview

The specialist will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of thermal spray coatings on gas turbine components. This involves practical experience from initial component preparation and masking to equipment setup, robotic cell operation, and achieving specified coating quality. The role emphasizes direct, practical experience in thermal spray coating applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and masking components for thermal spray coating.
• Setting up and operating thermal spray coating equipment.
• Operating robotic coating cells to apply coatings.
• Ensuring required coating quality on gas turbine components.
• Performing equipment checks and preventive maintenance.

Required Experience and Skills

• 5-20 years of hands-on experience in thermal spray coating.
• Proficiency in Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS) and HVOF.
• Experience with Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC).
• Familiarity with gas turbine and hot gas path components.
• Experience operating ABB, FANUC, or KUKA robotic coating systems.
• Knowledge of Oerlikon / Sulzer Metco or similar thermal spray equipment.
• Understanding of powder feeders and coating controllers.
• Skills in grit blasting, masking, and surface preparation.
• Ability to perform coating cell setup and operation.
