UG Shift Boss

About the Role

Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia to appoint a UG Shift Boss within the Mining Department. This full-time, on-site role is based in Najran and Dammam, reporting directly to the Mine Manager. The UG Shift Boss is responsible for supervising and coordinating underground shift operations, ensuring that development and long-hole stoping activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise underground mining crews across development and long-hole stoping activities during assigned shifts.
• Ensure full compliance with safety procedures, ventilation requirements, and ground control standards.
• Coordinate drilling, blasting, mucking, and ore handling to achieve planned shift targets.
• Monitor dilution, ore recovery, and adherence to mine design and production plans.
• Prepare accurate shift reports and communicate performance and operational issues to management.
• Respond promptly to underground operational challenges and ensure continuity of production.
• Promote a strong safety culture and operational discipline within the team.
• Work effectively with mechanised underground mining fleets.

Objectives of the Position

• Ensure safe execution of all underground mining activities during each shift.
• Deliver development and production targets through effective supervision and coordination.
• Maintain operational discipline through accurate reporting, quality control, and issue resolution.
• Achieve consistent shift production targets.
• Ensure strong compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Provide accurate and timely shift reporting.
• Effectively supervise development and long-hole stoping crews.
• Demonstrate control of dilution and overall mining quality.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in underground mining operations.

Work Environment and Reporting Structure

This role is within the Mining / Underground Department and is based on-site in Najran. The UG Shift Boss reports to the Mine Manager and will have direct reports including the Mine Superintendent.
