Job Description

Role Summary

Future Pipe Industries is seeking a Unit Project Manager to join our team in Dammam, located in the Eastern region. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The Unit Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing the unit's Project Managers (PMs) and Project Leaders (PLs) to ensure the successful execution of projects in alignment with the established vision and goals.

Core Project Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective implementation of contract management procedures, including contract review, summary updates, and ownership transfer from proposals to projects.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle from order to close-out, ensuring adherence to project processes and resource availability.
  • Implement project planning and control measures, including system updates, and prioritize planning department activities when capacity allows.
  • Manage project variations and quotations, ensuring proper implementation of procedures and approving variations according to the approval authority matrix.
  • Ensure effective implementation of invoicing and bonds issue procedures.
  • Oversee project close-out processes, including obtaining Letters of Good Performance and ensuring client satisfaction questionnaires are completed.

Risk, Issue, and Performance Management

  • Review and challenge internal reports, contract summary updates, project KPI reports, and project critiques.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks effectively, ensuring all client claims are closed cost-effectively.
  • Lead the implementation of the “Issues & Improvement procedure,” managing identified issues and involving the Project Quality Manager (PQM) as appropriate.
  • Contribute to Root Cause Analysis and the planning of project-related improvement actions.
  • Control department performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Revenue, Gross Profit, Committed Stock, Backlog, On-time Performance, and Project Status Control.
  • Participate in QHSE audits, incident reporting, and review of QHSE performances, ensuring compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental control procedures.

Communication, Reporting, and Documentation

  • Report to Geo market and Functional management, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Submit biweekly/monthly internal reports to RPRJ, PQM, and GMPRJ.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the ‘Interfaces Management Procedure’ and the application of the Emails Distribution & Escalation Policy.
  • Oversee the implementation of procedures for Minutes of Meetings, Visit Reports & Correspondence.
  • Ensure effective implementation of Projects Records Management and Projects Document Control procedures, including auditing proper execution and assuring resource availability.
  • Manage data maintenance and verification in the system related to PM/PL activities.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Evaluate Unit PM/PL capacity against backlog, budget, and forecast, initiating and expediting ATR processes.
  • Conduct candidate interviews and selection for recruitment, perform PMDP appraisals, and set annual objectives.
  • Provide training for Unit PMs and plan their vacations.
  • Assign Project Managers and Leaders to projects, with the ability to manage projects personally when required.
  • Represent the department to auditors, clients, and third parties.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders according to the matrix organization and external parties including clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other third parties.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role must possess 2-5 years of experience in project management, demonstrating a strong understanding of project execution, contract management, risk mitigation, and team leadership within an industrial or similar environment. The ability to manage complex projects, lead a team of project professionals, and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards is essential.
