About the Role

Applus+ Velosi KSA is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Inspector (Offshore) to join their team. This full-time position is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The role is essential for ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of all electrical installations and systems on offshore facilities. This position requires meticulous inspection, testing, verification, and documentation in strict adherence to international standards, project specifications, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive inspection, testing, and verification of electrical systems, panels, cables, grounding, and equipment on offshore platforms.
  • Ensure strict compliance with international codes and standards, including IEC, IEEE, and NEC, as well as specific project specifications.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and all relevant technical documentation.
  • Identify non-conformities, document them in inspection reports, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitor installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities to guarantee adherence to established safety and quality standards.
  • Verify the compliance of Ex-proof equipment and hazardous area installations according to ATEX/IECEx guidelines.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams, contractors, and site engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and test results, and prepare detailed daily and weekly progress reports.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures during site activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of direct offshore experience as an Electrical Inspector is required.
  • Possess strong knowledge of international electrical standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, ATEX, and IECEx, along with other relevant industry guidelines.
  • Hold relevant certifications such as CompEx / EX Inspector, NDT Level II (if applicable), or equivalent qualifications.
  • Possess valid offshore survival certifications (BOSIET/FOET) and up-to-date medical certifications.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in conducting hazardous area inspections and electrical commissioning activities.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Electrical Systems Inspection, Electrical Testing, and Electrical Verification.
  • Expert knowledge of international standards including IEC, IEEE, NEC, ATEX, and IECEx.
  • Experience with Hazardous Area Inspections and Electrical Commissioning.
  • Strong understanding and application of HSE Policies.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively review Technical Documentation.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role requires working offshore.

    • Supervise equipment PDI, delivery, testing, commissioning, and final handover to end users.
    • Ensure timely collection of customer credit payments.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • Monitor and report competitors' activities such as sales, promotion activities, inventory, and quality of after-sales service.

Education & Certifications:
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Required Years of Experience:
4 to 6 years’ experience.
