BAE Systems Saudi Arabia operates as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, providing essential equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia under Government-to-Government arrangements. The company is responsible for maintaining Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and delivering safe training to RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel on the use of aircraft, equipment, and weapons. Role Overview
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an Electronic Communication Instructor for a full-time position in Dhahran. This role is central to delivering effective and efficient training solutions covering Electronic Communication systems and Radio, including practical workshop sessions. The instructor will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of training to meet the specific needs and requirements of the Training Systems Integration (TSI) customer, working under the direction and support of the Senior Instructor – OFF A/C.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and lead specialist training functions, conducting specialist training in support of TSI objectives.
- Ensure student welfare in assigned training areas and monitor performance to achieve training objectives.
- Teach common modules relevant to the speciality within common courses.
- Perform analysis, design, production, development, and delivery of new and existing training courses, ensuring alignment with customer needs regarding time, cost, and specification.
- Research, write, and validate advanced training notes.
- Deliver and supervise practical On-the-Job Training (OJT) and training consolidation.
- Provide specialist training input as a subject matter expert for bidding processes, customer enquiries, and training proposals.
- Specify, design, and develop appropriate training aids, including computer-aided instruction and advanced desktop training systems.
- Produce training support materials such as curriculum, objectives, syllabuses, course plans, and assessment methods.
- Maintain and review technical expertise to align with technical advances and evolving needs.
- Conduct cadet assessment and evaluation exercises, implementing remedial action as required.
- Plan, control, and deliver assigned courses, contributing to cross-discipline courses/investigations.
- Counsel students on academic performance or behaviour as necessary.
- Ensure completion and submission of cadets' weekly reports, STS, and End of Phase Reports.
- Document work, including attendance, progress reports, lesson plans, cadets’ portfolios, and schemes of work.
- Review ECT courseware for improvement and maintain classroom procedures and discipline as published in the TSI.
- Stay informed of subject developments and attend staff development courses as required by RSAF or the Company.
Required Attributes and Skills
- Detailed understanding of complex and integrated systems design and operation, enabling theoretical and practical application in training and operational environments (*, teaching maintenance, fault diagnosis, defect rectification).
- Ability to operate complex training aids and simulators effectively and safely.
- Supervisory capability within an operational training environment.
- Sound business awareness and strong analytical skills with knowledge of relevant analytical techniques.
- Good interpersonal skills to teach specialist skills and knowledge across diverse cultures, status, intellect, and technical abilities.
- Well-motivated, adaptable, and flexible to operate in a highly complex technical environment, ensuring objectives are met with minimum supervision.
- Understanding of internal and external customer requirements.
- Ability to apply relevant internal and external processes and procedures.
- Detailed knowledge in the operation and use of IT systems to support relevant systems (computer-aided instruction, desktop publishing, databases, training development software).
- Well-developed planning and organising skills to meet precise training programme timings.
- Ability to use the TMIS / LMS system for maintaining accurate, up-to-date, comprehensive training records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: A university degree in Electronics Communication or graduation from an advanced military trade school, industrial equivalent, or relevant educational establishment, with completed On-the-Job Training (OJT).
- Essential: Practical experience across the full range of Electronics Communication Technology, including Ground to Air communication, Satellite-Communication (SATCOM), and Fibre Optics.
- Essential: For non-native English speakers, an in-date IELTS certificate with a minimum overall score of , and speaking and listening band scores of when recruited.
- Essential: Recent teaching or instructional experience supported by formal certificates.
- Desirable: Successful completion of an accredited instructional techniques course.
- Desirable: Experience and knowledge in City & Guilds Education and Training L2.
- Desirable: L3 Assessor qualification (TAQA).
- Desirable: Hands-on experience in electronics and communications laboratories.
Professional Development
The role requires a commitment to continuous learning, including the completion of a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) annually. Instructors are expected to stay abreast of developments in their subject area and be willing to attend staff development courses as required by the Royal Saudi Air Force or BAE Systems Saudi Arabia.
