Lecturer in Industrial & Systems Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran is inviting applications for multiple full-time Lecturer positions. KFUPM seeks highly qualified candidates with expertise in Industrial Engineering and related fields to contribute to its academic mission.

Key Areas of Expertise

Candidates should possess a strong background and a commitment to excellence in one or more of the following specialized areas:

• Operations Research
• Production Systems/Supply Chain Management
• Quality Control/Statistics/Data Science
• Engineering Economics
• Industrial Information Systems
• Human Factors/Economics

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to dedicate approximately 35-40 hours per week to professional duties. Core responsibilities include:

• Carrying out teaching, research, academic advising, and administrative duties.
• Fulfilling any other academic duties assigned by the department.
• Engaging in high-quality teaching and fulfilling the teaching requirements of the department, including teaching courses and developing lab activities at the undergraduate level.
• Incorporating the most recent advancements in their area of study into the courses they teach.
• Initiating and maintaining research activities/projects with faculty members that result in peer-reviewed articles in high-impact professional journals.
• Participating in service by being active in the life of the department and university, including program development and other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following academic criteria:

• An earned Master’s degree from a reputable university in the relevant field.
• A full-time Master’s degree with very good grades.
• Certificate equivalency if the certificate was obtained from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Essential Skills and Attributes

Candidates should possess the following skills and attributes:

• Demonstrated teaching experience.
• Experience with a programming language, preferably Python and Jupyter notebooks.
• Excellent communication skills.
