King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), located in Dhahran, KSA, is seeking to appoint a Saudi Aramco Chair Professor in Corporate Finance. Role Overview and Objectives

The Chair Professor will join the Department of Accounting and Finance at KFUPM, contributing significantly to both teaching and research. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to preparing students for success in a multicultural environment, with a particular emphasis on the Saudi context and Vision 2030 implications within corporate finance. This role was initially targeted for Fall 2021, seeking candidates dedicated to excellence in teaching and research.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance the King Fahd University Business School (KBS) research and educational programs in corporate finance, focusing on implications for the Saudi context and Vision 2030.
• Contribute to the establishment and technology transfer in areas important to KSA by building teams, applying for research grants, and networking with international bodies and centers.
• Build research capacity within the department and college, and publish research works in leading research journals.
• Supervise MSc and PhD students, particularly in newly developed programs.
• Deliver technical public seminars at KFUPM, Saudi Aramco, and other institutions.
• Assist the department in recruiting high-quality faculty (both fresh graduates and established professionals) and promote KBS through professional networks.
• Invite and encourage KFUPM faculty members and graduate students into the candidate’s area of expertise through short courses and lecture series.
• Conduct and collaborate in high-quality research and publish in top-tier journals.
• Help develop new research-oriented programs at the Masters and PhD levels.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a PhD degree and teaching and/or industrial experience in related areas.
• Academically qualified under AACSB standards to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• A distinguished record of research, teaching, and service.
• Experience in supervising students and a proven record of mentoring doctoral students.
• An internationally recognized research record with publications in top-tier journals.
• Evidence of collaborative research and publications with leading scholars.
• A record of editorial positions in leading finance/economics journals.
• Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and working collaboratively with colleagues.
