About the Role

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician 3 to join its team in Dhahran. This full-time position is integral to the Sterile Processing Services (SPS) department, focusing on the comprehensive processing of reusable medical items and the preparation of case carts.

Role Overview and Impact

The Sterile Processing Technician 3 plays a critical role in ensuring patient well-being by meticulously managing reusable items through decontamination, sorting, packaging, sterilization, and storage procedures. The technician operates under established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, utilizing an approved electronic competency evaluation system to maintain high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex sterilization cases, ensuring full compliance with clinical and organizational standards.
• Support operational efficiency by coordinating resources and managing workflows within the SPS department.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to intermediate and junior staff in sterile processing operations.
• Coordinate effectively with clinical teams to support patient care through efficient sterile processing.
• Plan and direct the processing, preparation, storing, dispensing, checking, and ordering of medical supplies and equipment.
• Participate in and assist segment staff with function assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation activities.
• Identify safety hazards within the segment and implement necessary corrective actions to prevent accidents, applying quality assurance principles.
• Prepare verbal and written reports for the segment head regarding the condition and functioning of assigned equipment, including sterilizers, aerators, washers, computer terminals, and printers.
• Conduct routine inspections of all equipment used in the SPS area.
• Attend required safety and in-service education programs.
• Perform other related duties as requested to support departmental operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 7 years of relevant experience in sterile processing or a related field. A strong understanding of sterilization processes, compliance standards, and equipment operation is essential.

Work Environment and Schedule

This role is based within the Sterile Processing Services of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare facilities in Dhahran. The work schedule is full-time and assigned to meet operational needs, which may include various shifts, on-call duties, and scheduled overtime.
