About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Banquets Manager to join our team in Jeddah. This full-time role involves directing and motivating the banquet team to deliver high-quality service, while also managing financial and administrative responsibilities, including asset protection. The Banquets Manager ensures clear communication and identifies training opportunities to achieve departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project supply needs for the department, including china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, and props.
  • Apply knowledge of all relevant laws pertaining to events.
  • Manage banquet operations to maximize customer satisfaction, understanding their impact on overall event success.
  • Adhere to and reinforce all established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain established sanitation levels and manage departmental inventories and equipment.
  • Schedule banquet service staff based on forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits.
  • Assist the team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and foster growth.

Team Leadership and Customer Service

  • Set goals and delegate tasks to improve departmental performance.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings with the Banquet team and act as a liaison to the kitchen staff.
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations and interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Respond to and resolve guest problems and complaints.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and ensure they understand expectations and parameters.
  • Strive to improve service performance, emphasizing guest satisfaction and continuous improvement during all departmental meetings.
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.

Human Resources and Operational Activities

  • Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures, ensuring staff are trained in safety protocols.
  • Observe employee service behaviors and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor progress and lead discussions with staff each period.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Review quarterly Meeting Planner Survey results and contribute to the development and implementation of corrective actions to address service challenges, focusing on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction.
  • Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in banquet operations or a similar hospitality management role. A strong understanding of service standards, financial management, and team leadership is essential.

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, within a dynamic hospitality environment focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
