Business Development Representative

About the Role

Orient Castle Contracting Company is seeking a Business Development Representative for a full-time position in Makkah, covering Jeddah and Makkah. This role is central to identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and supporting the expansion of the company's portfolio across contracting, construction, timber, and furniture sectors. The position focuses on project acquisition, market growth, tender support, and client engagement within both public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new leads through direct outreach, networking, referrals, industry databases, and market intelligence.
• Build and maintain a robust prospect and client database, converting leads into active business opportunities.
• Track upcoming projects from early stages through to tender and award, identifying key decision-makers, consultants, developers, and contractors.
• Conduct regular client visits and business development meetings, fostering relationships with key decision-makers and maintaining an active industry network.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences, and networking events to enhance market presence.
• Coordinate with Estimation, Technical, Design, and Commercial teams to develop competitive proposals and quotations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and submission deadlines.
• Support negotiations and commercial discussions during the pre-award stage.
• Ensure proper handover of awarded projects to relevant Sales, Projects, and Operations teams, maintaining client engagement for a smooth project start.
• Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, market developments, and upcoming opportunities, providing regular market intelligence and recommendations to management.

Key Performance Indicators

Performance in this role will be measured against specific targets and conversion rates, pipeline and revenue contributions, and overall client relationship management.

• Achievement against annual and monthly business development targets.
• Lead-to-opportunity and opportunity-to-award conversion rates.
• Number and value of new leads and opportunities generated, including qualified opportunities added to the pipeline.
• Revenue contribution from new clients.
• Client retention and growth of relationships.
• Accuracy and timeliness of reports.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess relevant experience in business development within the contracting or construction industry.

• 5-10 years of experience in a business development role.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Strong understanding of the contracting, construction, timber, and furniture sectors.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves regular client interaction and representation at industry events.
