About the Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts® is seeking a Chef de Partie (Butcher) to join our culinary team in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items according to established recipes and quality standards. The role involves ensuring proper food presentation, maintaining kitchen logs, and supporting overall kitchen operations while adhering to safety and quality guidelines. We are looking for candidates with 0-1 years of relevant experience.

Key Culinary Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required by guest requests or menu specifications.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure optimal cooking.
• Manage food inventory by pulling items from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of all food items for presentation.
• Maintain accurate food logs and continuously monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Communicate effectively with the team to request assistance during busy periods.
• Inform the Chef of excess food items that can be utilized for daily specials.
• Liaise with Food & Beverage service staff to communicate menu specials and any out-of-stock items.
• Prepare and cook food strictly according to established recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and the food preparation checklist.
• Execute the preparation of cold food items.

Operational Support and Professional Conduct

• Assist management in various human resources functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs proactively.
• Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues; support the team to achieve common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards in all aspects of work.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Chef de Partie or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to follow recipes and adhere to strict quality and presentation standards.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This full-time position operates within a dynamic kitchen environment and requires the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. The role involves physical activities such as reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Candidates must be capable of moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. The Chef de Partie will perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
