Cost Engineer Indirects & Procurement

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to join the team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for the Ar Rjum Project, focusing on cost control, forecasting, and analysis. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in cost engineering.

Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project located within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh, and about 26 km south of Al Mouwayh. The project encompasses three open-pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and temporary and permanent accommodation villages.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cost budgets and ensure accurate cost and cashflow forecasts, utilizing the change management system. Perform ongoing cost and cash flow analysis.
• Monitor contractor progress, verify monthly incurred costs, prepare monthly accruals, and provide variance analysis.
• Ensure that approved trends and changes are incorporated into the overall project estimate at completion (EAC) and budget for cost and quantities.
• Prepare routine performance reports and special studies related to assigned scope for presentation to project, corporate, and/or customer management teams.
• Maintain open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in cost engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare cost forecasts and review cost trends.
• Experience in implementing project requirements for cost control.
• Proficiency in detailed analysis to provide solutions to cost engineering challenges.

Work Location

This position is based in Saudi Arabia, with potential work locations including Taif, Riyadh, and Jeddah, supporting the Ar Rjum Project.
