About the Role
flyadeal is seeking a Crewing Duty Manager to lead the real-time management and optimization of crew resources. This full-time position is critical for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient airline operations within the Makkah region, including the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves overseeing Crewing Duty Supervisors, Crew Controllers, and Crew Logistics Coordinators during shift operations, ensuring qualified crew assignments align with regulatory requirements, company policies, and published rosters. This position plays a central role in managing operational disruptions, irregular operations, and crew recovery actions while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure qualified flight and cabin crew are assigned to operate all flights in accordance with GACAR Part 117, GACAR *****, company operations manuals, crew control procedures, and applicable policies.
- Lead, direct, and oversee Crewing Duty Supervisors, Crew Controllers, and Crew Logistics Coordinators during shift operations.
- Execute crew-related recovery plans and operational instructions issued by the IOCC Duty Manager.
- Manage crew-related operational disruptions and irregular operations while minimizing the impact on flight schedules, crew rosters, and network performance.
- Monitor actual and potential crew-related risks and take timely corrective action to maintain operational continuity and regulatory compliance.
- Review, approve, and oversee changes to published crew rosters.
- Ensure roster changes and crew movements are communicated to crew members, stations, hotels, ground transport providers, and other relevant parties.
- Confirm that operational instructions, roster amendments, and crew movements are acknowledged, actioned, and accurately recorded in the applicable systems.
- Evaluate and approve or reject crew requests based on operational requirements, safety considerations, regulatory compliance, and efficient crew utilization.
- Escalate crew shortages, qualification issues, fatigue concerns, and other operational risks when required.
- Coordinate with Crew Planning and Training Planning regarding roster inefficiencies, qualification gaps, and issues affecting crew utilization.
- Monitor compliance with Flight Duty Time Limitations, rest requirements, fatigue risk management principles, and crew qualification requirements.
- Analyze operational performance, crew utilization trends, and disruption events to identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement corrective actions and process improvements to strengthen operational resilience, compliance, and crew utilization.
- Maintain effective coordination with Flight Operations, Network Control, Flight Dispatch, Ground Operations, Crew Planning, Training Planning, Human Resources, and external service providers.
- Ensure an accurate shift handover, including outstanding crew issues, operational risks, recovery plans, and required follow-up actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Crewing Supervisor role, or at least 3 years of experience as a Crewing Duty Manager.
- Demonstrated experience in airline crew control, real-time crew operations, or operational control.
- Experience managing irregular operations, crew disruptions, and operational recovery in a commercial airline environment.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of Flight Duty Time Limitations, fatigue risk management, and crew regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of GACAR Part 117 and GACAR ******
- Experience coordinating with Flight Operations, Network Operations, Crew Planning, Training, Ground Operations, and other operational stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a time-critical operational environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using the AIMS Crew Management System.
- Previous experience within a low-cost or high-utilization airline environment.
- Experience working within an Integrated Operations Control Centre.
- Formal training in crew control, operational control, fatigue risk management, or disruption management.
- Experience supervising shift-based airline operations teams.

This full-time role operates within a dynamic and fast-paced airline environment, requiring a proactive approach to operational challenges and real-time decision-making. The position is based in the Makkah region, covering operations in Jeddah and Makkah, and demands strong coordination across various operational departments.
