About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Field Services Engineer to join our team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to the onsite installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of critical motor and variable speed drive systems. The Field Services Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of equipment at customer sites, providing essential technical support and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, and maintenance of Variable Speed Drives (VSI, Static Var Compensation, Static Frequency Controllers), synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems.
• Respond promptly to requests for emergency repairs and services, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
• Provide comprehensive technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding equipment installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance procedures at their sites.
• Prepare accurate and timely technical reports, order necessary materials, secure quotations, and complete job status reports, customer reports, time sheets, and expense sheets.
• Offer leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset, ensuring all executed work reflects technical requirements while strictly adhering to GE safety standards.
• Generate timely and precise technical reports for customer records and as a valuable reference for future outages.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a professional with 2-5 years of experience in a field services or related technical engineering role. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical and mechanical systems, particularly motors and variable speed drives. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in diverse field environments are essential.

Work Environment

This role is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and operates within a dynamic field service environment. A significant component of this position involves travel, estimated at approximately 80%, to various customer sites to perform required services.
