About the Opportunity

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Engineer Field Services to join our team in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading onsite activities for the installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of motors and generator systems and equipment. The Lead Engineer will also provide essential technical instruction and support to customer representatives at their sites.

Role Focus

The primary focus of this position is to execute and oversee a comprehensive range of field services for critical industrial equipment. This includes the installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems. A strong understanding of Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drives systems is also essential for success in this role.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems.
• Apply knowledge of Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drives systems during service operations.
• Respond promptly to requests for emergency repairs and services.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites.
• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages.

Leadership and Documentation

This role requires providing leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites, ensuring adherence to technical requirements and GE safety standards. The Lead Engineer is also responsible for comprehensive documentation, including writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets, and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in field services for motors, generators, and associated systems.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems.
• Proven ability to apply knowledge of Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drives systems.
• A strong safety mindset is essential to ensure all executed work aligns with GE safety standards.

Work Location
