Health Safety Environment Officer

About the Role

NSH is seeking an experienced Safety & Environment Officer to join their team in Makkah, specifically covering project sites in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position involves overseeing and implementing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices at oil & gas project sites across Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with project safety standards, environmental regulations, and client requirements, fostering a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards at project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as client HSE requirements.
• Monitor environmental aspects including waste management, pollution control, emissions, and spill prevention.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure proper implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Risk Assessment procedures.
• Monitor safe work practices during construction, maintenance, and other oil & gas activities.
• Maintain HSE documentation, inspection reports, incident records, and environmental records.
• Coordinate with project management, site supervisors, and client HSE representatives.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a Safety & Environment Officer role, preferably within the oil & gas sector.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor comprehensive HSE practices.
• Strong understanding of Saudi Arabian environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Experience with Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Risk Assessment procedures.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to interact with various stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role is based in the Makkah region, with responsibilities extending to oil & gas project sites in Jeddah and Makkah. It is a full-time position requiring on-site presence to effectively manage and oversee HSE operations.
