About Amazon and the Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia (ex-Souq) is seeking a Learning Area Manager to join its Fulfillment Center Operations Learning team in Jeddah. This full-time position is integral to Amazon's world-class and rapidly growing network, where customer orders are managed using industry-leading workflows. Due to government regulations, this role is open exclusively to Saudi nationals.

The Learning Area Manager's Contribution

The Learning Area Manager is an active member of the Fulfillment Center Operations Learning team, driving and supporting network-wide initiatives. Successful candidates will apply a creative, hands-on approach to execute daily actions, ensuring compliance and utilizing data-driven analytical thinking. Effective presentation and persuasion skills are essential, as is the ability to influence without direct authority. The role involves close partnership with Operations and requires an understanding of warehouse process operations, with execution skills crucial for delivering daily coaching to support associate development.

Core Responsibilities

  • Foster the development and growth of Amazon employees through mentoring and teaching.
  • Implement and execute training programs for associates, managers, and trainers, including needs analysis, skills development, and cross-training.
  • Facilitate orientation and training classes, communicating policies and procedures to managers and new employees.
  • Ensure the Learning Department creates and updates accurate information for Training schools, PMVs, SJIs, and other training aids.
  • Actively seek and understand information from Operations and Area Managers to comprehend and own Trans performance goals, providing training assistance to achieve these goals.
  • Fully understand workflow, daily production goals, and reports used to drive the business.
  • React efficiently to production imperatives, scheduling conflicts, and network-wide rollouts.
  • Ensure and drive best practices standardization across all departments and sites.
  • Ensure network standard training programs are implemented and consistently utilized in the fulfillment center.
  • Track and record training progress and skill sets.
  • Manage grant proposals, including implementation, tracking, and relationship management, as needed.
  • Create, manage, and update training content and associate compliance audits.
  • Administer methods for gathering and tracking training metrics.
  • Analyze data to suggest improvements for training and operations.
  • Track and communicate Learning Department goals, assignments, and progress locally and at a network level.
  • Take ongoing responsibility for ensuring the First, Middle, and Last Mile Transportation operates safely, taking immediate corrective action where necessary.
  • Own the PIT Training Program and maintain proper documentation related to PIT certification.

Required Qualifications

  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience delivering training or information to peers, hourly associates, and management.
  • Experience working with both hourly employees and exempt personnel.
  • Experience coaching and delivering messages related to performance.
  • Experience developing and implementing goals and strategies based on broader organizational objectives.
  • Experience interpreting data analytics.
  • Proficiency in computer usage, email, and MS Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience, OR a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combined with 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, writing, and reading).

  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete projects with tight deadlines.
  • Desire to thrive in a dynamic, growing environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.

Work Environment and Experience

This role is based in a Fulfillment Center, operating within a fast-paced consumer goods environment. The position is full-time and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
