Role Overview

Modern Mills For Food Products Co. is seeking a Manager, Commodity Buyer, to join its team in Jeddah. This full-time position is integral to the company's supply chain operations, focusing on the strategic procurement of essential feed raw materials.

Core Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to execute the procurement of feed raw materials through international commodity sourcing, comprehensive market analysis, skilled supplier negotiations, and efficient trade execution. The Manager, Commodity Buyer, will ensure uninterrupted supply, competitive costs, and effective supply risk management, directly supporting the company's operational and financial objectives.

Key Accountabilities

• Execute the procurement of feed raw materials, including RFQs, tenders, commercial evaluations, negotiations, and purchase agreements, to ensure continuous production and optimal inventory levels.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and procurement plans, meeting quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Monitor international and local commodity markets, CBOT futures, freight movements, exchange rates, and supply-demand trends, providing market intelligence for purchasing strategies and budgeting.
• Conduct total landed cost analyses to inform sourcing decisions and identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising supply reliability.
• Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key local and international suppliers, brokers, and logistics partners, evaluating their performance and identifying alternative sourcing to reduce supply risk.
• Negotiate and execute international purchase contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, Delegation of Authority, Incoterms, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate the execution of international purchase contracts from award through to cargo receipt, collaborating with Logistics, Finance, and Quality departments to resolve operational issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement efficiency through automation, analytics, and best practices, developing cost models and preparing procurement reports and performance dashboards.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of commodity procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant procurement or commodity buying role.
• Experience within FMCG, agriculture, feed, grain trading, or food manufacturing is preferred.

Critical Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical capabilities for market intelligence, cost management, and risk assessment.
• Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and trade execution.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing and risk mitigation plans.
• Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency in identifying and resolving supply chain and commercial issues.

Work Setting

This full-time position is based in Jeddah. The role requires active collaboration with various internal departments, including Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing, Finance, Logistics, and Quality, as well as external suppliers and partners.
