Planning Engineer

About the Role

NSH Gulf Asia is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer – Mechanical to join their team in Makkah, with work locations including Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves supporting planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress control for oil & gas / EPC construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Develop baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project timelines.
• Monitor project progress against planned targets and identify delays or deviations.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project teams to ensure schedule compliance.
• Prepare manpower, material, and equipment planning based on project requirements.
• Track mechanical construction activities including piping, equipment installation, fabrication, erection, testing, and commissioning.
• Analyze critical path, schedule slippage, and recovery plans.
• Assist in preparing look-ahead schedules, S-curves, progress measurement, and forecasts.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams for progress updates.
• Support project management in schedule recovery and mitigation planning.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in a planning engineer role.
• Strong experience in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of mechanical construction activities, particularly piping and equipment installation.
• Experience in progress monitoring, reporting, manpower planning, and schedule control.
• Saudi / GCC experience is preferred.
• Candidates with Oil & Gas project experience will be preferred.

Work Location

This full-time position is based in the Makkah region, with specific work locations in Jeddah and Makkah.
