Planning Specialist

About the Role

Alkhorayef Industries Company is seeking a Planning Specialist to join their team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on demand operations and supply chain policy adherence, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience. The specialist will be responsible for developing and refining demand forecasts, optimizing supply methods, and ensuring efficient inventory management.

Key Responsibilities in Demand Operations

• Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for various time horizons.
• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Conduct cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
• Utilize a collaboration and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
• Assist in developing new or optimizing existing methods of supply, including emergency strategies, using corporate standard concepts.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative evaluations, considering the impact on logistics costs and structure.
• Investigate supply methods such as transportation, packaging, source of supply, and material flow for new or existing suppliers, as well as new supplier selection processes.
• Initiate, investigate, and develop medium to long-term planning strategies influencing supplier selection, and implement process improvements through innovation.
• Monitor warehouse inventory and communicate slow and non-moving inventory to relevant parties for immediate action.
• Prepare reports and statistics related to demand planning and forecasting.
• Use and maintain the Demand Planning Software as the primary forecasting system tool.

Policy and Process Adherence

• Follow all relevant Supply Chain policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, considering leading practices, business process enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
• Promote the implementation and adherence to policies, processes, and operating procedures within Alkhorayef Industries Company (AIC).

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant planning or supply chain role.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage demand forecasts.
• Experience with demand planning software and statistical forecasting models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, within Alkhorayef Industries Company. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with various departments including Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
