About the Role

Florose is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in Jeddah. This full-time role is within a fast-paced e-commerce company and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting operations and financial records, managing financial closing, reconciliations, and reporting.

Role Context

The Senior Accountant will have direct responsibility for key e-commerce accounting activities, including sales, payment gateways, collections, returns, inventory, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional with solid hands-on experience in a high-volume e-commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review day-to-day accounting operations and General Ledger (GL) activities, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and adjusting entries.
  • Perform and review month-end and year-end closing activities, analyze Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable balances, investigating and resolving outstanding items and discrepancies.
  • Reconcile e-commerce sales with ERP systems, payment gateways, and bank collections, including refunds, chargebacks, payment gateway fees, commissions, and settlements.
  • Review and reconcile courier and Cash on Delivery (COD) settlements, where applicable, and investigate related outstanding balances and discrepancies.
  • Review inventory accounting and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), reconcile inventory balances across systems, and investigate variances related to physical counts, returns, damaged inventory, and adjustments.
  • Support the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements and management reports, including account analysis, variance analysis, and investigation of unusual transactions.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting and tax treatment of transactions and support VAT, Zakat, ZATCA, and e-invoicing compliance requirements.
  • Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits and follow up on audit findings.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company accounting policies, applicable accounting standards, and relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Contribute to accounting process improvement and automation, including enhancing integrations and reconciliations between e-commerce platforms, ERP, inventory systems, and payment gateways.
  • Review the work of junior accounting team members where required, provide technical accounting support, and contribute to maintaining high accounting standards across the team.

Required Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Solid hands-on experience in a high-volume e-commerce environment.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, within a fast-paced e-commerce company environment.
